Christian Supply Choral Festival 2010
The Christian Supply Choral Festival 2010 will be held in Spartanburg, South Carolina August 5-7. An annual event in Spartanburg for the last 30 years, this is the largest, most extensive choral festival of its kind in the country. Held at the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, this event is expected to attract over 1,200 music staff members from US and Canadian churches.
This year’s festival will begin with a special bonus night on Wednesday, August 4. Entitled “A Night of Joy”, this will be a special night of great music and inspiration. Special musical guests will be “Sisters” and Michael Lord. The program starts at 7:00PM, and there is no additional cost to festival attendees.
Several musical artists will be featured in the 2010 festival. On Thursday evening Travis Cottrell and his praise band will entertain. Friday evening the featured group will be the Sherwood Baptist Church adult choir and orchestra from Albany, Georgia. Laura Story and her praise band will perform on Saturday morning. Special speakers at the festival will include Dr. Henry Blackaby and Joni Eareckson Tada. This year’s program will include the premier presentations of three new Christmas cantatas by outstanding choirs. Two of these works are written for adult choirs, and one is written for children.
There will be more than 60 workshops offered at the Choral Festival. Topics will cover virtually every aspect of church music ministry. Workshops will include children’s and youth choirs, keyboards, and orchestras, among others. There will be sessions with top choral music publishers and choral clinicians including Randy Vader, David T. Clydesdale, Jay Rouse, Tom Fettke, and Marty Parks.
The Full Registration Package ($355.00) includes over $600.00 in music packets, all reading sessions, concerts, premieres, workshops, devotional times and five meals, including banquets. The Associate Registration Package ($295.00) is only available once a church has purchased a Full Registration. The associate package includes everything that the Full Registration Package has except for the music packets. There is a maximum of six registrations per church.
